What NOT to name your business!

Source: Huffington Post

After a 10-year hiatus...

...I'm playing the piano again!

I had to tune it after not playing for so long. I really can't believe it has been a decade since I ended my piano lessons!

According to my Dad, my piano teacher described me as an "Exam Freak", i.e., I played for the thrill of sitting for exams only. Wtf.

House Warming

I had my house warming party for family & friends last week (I'm throwing a separate one for colleagues). Since it's wedding season, there were a few "casualties" who couldn't turn up.

Nonetheless, these were the peeps who did make it (team Sun-Tan came late). Thanks, guys!! *heart*

My very proud Project Managers, Uncle & Aunty Tho, without whom I would not have this beautiful & practical apartment to live in. :)

Last but not least, my supportive family. Especially Mei Mei, who was there for me from the very start of my house-hunting journey. *heart*

Thank you all for your gifts & well wishes. *super heart*

Minestrone Soup

This was the first dish I cooked in my pretty kitchen. What was lacking? Taste!!

It tasted like water cos I didn't put in any meat or stock. So I used salt instead. From no taste it became too salty. But it was yummy nonetheless!! :)

How has living on my own been thus far?

  • I couldn't sleep on the first night cos I could hear this water dripping sound. Although the sound persists, I had no trouble falling asleep on subsequent nights.
  • I feel like I'm staying in a hotel. My routine has been: work, work-out, eat out, come home, shower and sleep.
  • Continuing with the hotel theme, the environment is really quiet here. I wake up to the sound of birds (non-pigeon species) chirping every morning. :)
  • I was so gung-ho about cleaning that I was mopping at midnight.
  • My pigeon problem has been solved with a few strategically placed home-made bird spikes + water gun. Boo-yah!!!
  • Malaysian society will only accept one of the following reasons for moving out: (1) for work or (2) getting married. Any other reasons will elicit a frown and an interrogation as to why you want to move out from your nice & comfortable parents' home. These same people will not attempt to understand any of your reasons and will speak to you in a tone that implies you are an ungrateful child for abandoning your parents.

I'm planning to cook my fave dish tonight. I am 100% confident it won't be tasteless. Watch this space! ;)

Move In Day

I officially moved into my apartment last week. Since the move-in ritual was for family members, we put Peanut in her travel kit and brought her along!

The Men attempting to assemble my drawer:

Aunty Tho dropped by as the Thos are now considered part of the family. :)

When it comes to DIY + my family, it's always an epic fail. So Uncle Tho (who else?) came to the rescue!

Strangely, their projects always end with them assembling Ikea furniture for their customers.

After 2 months, Project MOC is complete. Yay!! :)
Thank you, Uncle & Aunty Tho!! :)
